Abstrait:

The pedestrian bridge presented in this article was built to span a four-lane divided highway and safely link the residential community with the recreational riverside pedestrian pathway. The bridge's location is near the meandering Bow River embankments with the panorama of the downtown skyline on one side and the gentle contour of the foothills on the other. The bridge consists of 11 spans, cast-in-place reinforced concrete single solid spine with cantilevers. The span length varies between 9 m and 20 m. The structure consists of a north ramp and a main bridge separated by expansion joints. The north ramp is a three span, constant depth structure spanning the length of 32 m in the east-west direction. These spans are 9 m, 14 m and 9 m. The girder depth is 0,7 m. The total length of the main bridge is 122 m.
